Ed Sheeran Seattle Concert reviews
A Review from a SuperDad/Husband
When I realized that Ed was performing completely by himself, I was, at first, skeptical. How could one man, whom I would characterize as "quite a little fellow in a big stadium," carry a whole show by himself. Just as I remarked in a research paper on U2 in college, Ed is not just Ed, but a whole host of backing tech and technicians. He wisely employed a whole array of supplemental multi-media effects to make this "little fellow" bigger than life, and the result was phenomenal! He was a genuine, personable presence up on that stage so far away. He truly pulled off a performance, that would be more fitting in a small pub-like setting such as where he got his start, and made it personal to the 40,000+ crowd that communed with him and his music during the show. No, Ed, I, as a Super-Dad/husband, who came along not-so-unwillingly to your show, was not able to overcome my Super-Dadness/husbandness to be able to participate in the same way as those free-spirits were who freely danced and sang along (actually, I only know a few of your lyrics, so I really couldn't), but I enjoyed your show in my own way. When I had to sit because of my aching lower back, I could still see because of your technical effects, and I could, of course, still hear the music, even though I spent the show using ear plugs (chronic tinnitus). If you ever do come back and do a small venue performance, and I have the money and time, I will definitely attempt to be front row so that you can tell me to get my feet off of the stage.
